Super Grand Master Ghaem Maghami from Iran is a very popular chess player especially in India. 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6 3.Nc3 Bb4 4.e3 Favourite line of Azarbaijan Grandmaster Sarhan Guliev.He had many good games in this variation. 4...c5 5.Bd3 Nc6 6.Nf3 [6.Nge2 cxd4 (6...d5) 7.exd4 d5] 6...0–0 7.0–0 d5 [7...Bxc3 8.bxc3 d6 9.e4 e5 10.d5 Ne7 11.Nh4 is other possibilty .White will play with more space and goes for side attack with most of his pieces.Although black's pieces' cordination is well enough to hold the game in king side] 8.a3 Ba5 very good choice for this spesific game. [very well known 8...Bxc3 is most popular line at this moment] 9.h3 its not a rare move but 9.cxd5 is more principle [9.cxd5 exd5 10.dxc5 Bxc3 11.bxc3 Bg4 12.c4 Ne5 13.Bb2 Nxf3+ 14.gxf3 Bh3÷; 9.Ne2; 9.Na4 most probably after this move black has to enter in to the some isolated pawn positions which he has enough potential for counterplay. 9...cxd4 10.exd4 /\c5 10...dxc4 11.Bxc4 Ne7!? (11...h6) ] 9...Re8!? clever idea [9...Qe7 was alternative but the text move is more useful.As you understand white is not able to move his Q while black's Q stands on d8.White has to be careful about losing the important P on d4 after a move like Qe2.] 10.cxd5 exd5 11.dxc5 there is no better continuation even in same value. 11...Bxc3™ 12.bxc3 Qa5 13.Rb1 nice trick but probably not the best move. Qc2 or c4 are possible 13...Qxc5 [13...Qxc3 14.Rb5 Ne5™ 15.Be2±] 14.Rb5 [14.Qc2] 14...Qe7 15.c4?! very interesting position.It seems with two Bs white has to open lines and diagonals but after this move this is black who has a lot of active play with slight advantage.Still Qc2 was better. 15...dxc4 16.Bxc4 a6! After this move white will face some difficulty.Where is suitable place for his R? 17.Rb6 [17.Rg5? h6 18.Rg3 Ne4–+; 17.Rb1 Bf5µ /\Rad8 - Ne4; 17.Rb3!
