Kidambi Wins XXXIV Open Internacional d'Escacs "Ciutat de Badalona" Grup A

Kidambi and Konguvel make Grand Master Norms
International MastersSundararajan Kidambi of BPCL and P.Konguvel of ONGC scripted history by performing above their expecations and making Grand Master Norms together. It is a wonderful period for both of them as Kidambi captured  first place with 7.5 points out 9 rounds, where as Konguvel scored 6.5 points out 9 rounds  in the XXXIV Open Internacional d'Escacs "Ciutat de Badalona" Grup A Chess Tournament. Incidentally only four Grand Masters  took part in this tournamnet and making GM norms out of such a low participation is a mystery! Kidambi's performance results:
