Krishnan Sasikiran

saskiran2Only son of Parents Mr. Krishnan and Mrs. Jayashree, both Bank employees. However Mr. Krishnan, a club level player left his job to assist Sasikiran in Chess. Sasikiran started playing at the age of ten.
 
Joined ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation) a Government of India undertaking on sports quota in 1999 as Junior Superintendent at the age of 18.


After joining ONGC Sasikiran has taken occasional training with GM Dreev of Russia, and GM Psakhis of Israel . The training camps were sponsored by ONGC.

Awarded out of turn promotions for outstanding performance in International Chess. He is at present Deputy Manager (HR) at ONGC, Chennai.

Finished B.B.A from Madurai Kamaraj University by Correspondence in Dec, 2006.

Got Married to Radhika Sooriyanarayanan on 27-01-2008.
